CAITLIN SCHECTER
Garden Design Consultant
Initially inspired as her mother's helper in their family garden, Caitlin has translated her love of all things green and growing into helping others to be inspired by nature. After her BFA in Art History and a year of studying abroad in Provence, Caitlin taught children's art classes. This led to an internship with a local interior design firm, where she realized her designer's eye, attention to detail and passion for gardens. Caitlin's belief in sustainable, beautiful and unique gardens sets her apart as she strives to create spaces that are tranquil, inspiring and reflective of their homes. As a member of the Hardy Plant Society and the Garden Design Group she actively supplements her education, with attention to worldwide design trends, sustainable resources and organic practices. Gardening should be nourishing to us in harmony with nourishing our earth.
EDIE GYORKI
Garden Design Consultant
Edie Gyorki mentored with two of the foremost garden designers in Canada. As Assistant Designer under Michael Renaud at the acclaimed Horticultural Design in Toronto, Edie honed her skills in floral design and developed a modern approach to small space urban gardening. Edie returned to the West Coast to study with garden design guru Ron Rule at The University of British Columbia. Rule instilled in Edie the principles of classic design within the palate of a Pacific Northwest garden mosaic. As a lead designer Edie is influenced by the California living with Japanese twist designs of Ron Herrmann and the avant-garde urban designs of Martha Schwartz. From first consultation to fully developed installation Edie Gyorki is creating a buzz on the West Coast and invigorating the garden design scene in Vancouver.
